This membership website is operated by Pinecone Limited. Email addresses and verification records are used for member sign-in, account linking and abuse prevention.
When you choose Apple or Google sign-in, your browser goes to that platform for authentication. The platform supplies its account identifier and authorized email information to Rice8. Rice8 stores a hash of the platform account identifier, the platform name, email, and linking/use timestamps for sign-in, linking and duplicate-account checks. Rice8 does not receive your platform password, retain platform access or refresh tokens, or access Gmail, Drive or contacts.
A platform email does not automatically enable email-code sign-in. Matching email alone never merges an existing membership.
Passkeys store public verification data. Your device handles fingerprint, face and device-unlock data; Rice8 does not receive it.
Email verification codes are sent through Resend, which processes the recipient address and verification email content.
Public HKDAO posts use member IDs rather than email addresses. Authorized staff can use email information in Rice8 member profiles to provide member services.
Abuse prevention temporarily retains verification challenges and hashed rate-limit records. Member and linked-account records are retained on an ongoing basis. Contact [email protected] to request access, correction, platform unlinking or deletion.
